The inclusion of “Raumforschung und Raumordnung | Spatial Research and Planning” in the Scopus database confirms the high quality and further development of the journal. This is because the inclusion was preceded by an intensive evaluation. Scopus is a large abstract and index database for scientific peer-reviewed literature offered by the publisher Elsevier. To be included, journals must meet high scientific standards.

For “Raumforschung und Raumordnung | Spatial Research and Planning” the inclusion combines several advantages: On the one hand, inclusion in Scopus increases the visibility of the journal and the articles published in it. Secondly, the journal now reaches an even larger international readership, the global reach increases accordingly. “Raumforschung und Raumordnung | Spatial Research and Planning” is a forum for topics and debates relevant to the field of spatial sciences. The interdisciplinary journal addresses issues of spatial development and planning in Germany as well as in a European and international context. The focus is on topics such as urban and regional planning, demographic and urban spatial change, landscape development, environmental planning, sustainable development, adaptation to climate change, mobility, economic geography, regional governance and planning theories. The journal is part of the oekom science programme. Journal owners are ARL – Academy for Territorial Development in the Leibniz Association, Leibniz Institute for Regional Geography (IfL), ILS – Research Institute for Regional and Urban Development, Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IOER) and Leibniz Institute for Research on Society and Space (IRS).
